Inspiration
Sol LeWitt’s Instruction-Based Art + Participatory Sculpture
Sol Lewitt provides a set of guidelines for the individuals who sketch them. Instructions provide room for interpretation; frequently, the person following them must choose where the lines or forms should be placed. Every time such a wall art is made, it has a somewhat distinct appearance. When an exhibition comes to a conclusion, the wall painting is painted over, and the instructions are kept for the next time the drawing is created.

Bespoke Material Solutions (Using Legos)
By using a material that invites both control and play, I can physically demonstrate how form emerges from interaction—not just planning. LEGOs also leave visible traces of process, making them perfect for showing how objects begin to take shape through collaboration, tension, and change.
Collaborative Design Approach
A collaborative design approach reflects the course theme of emergence through interaction—where meaning and form evolve not just from one creator, but through the input of many. Inviting others to add bricks allows for unplanned, lived expression that challenges the boundaries of authorship and design control.
Sustainable Design Practices
Using LEGOs supports sustainable design by prioritizing reusability and material longevity. Unlike disposable or one-time-use materials, LEGO bricks can be assembled, disassembled, and repurposed endlessly—reducing waste and encouraging iterative thinking.

Final model
An evolving exploration of form where structured design meets participatory disruption—this sculpture unfolds through layered spatial systems, tracing the tension between architectural order and collective improvisation. As each contribution redefines the whole, the work becomes a living archive of interaction, perception, and emergent authorship.

From a Architects perspective
Youakim’s skyscraper focused on height, balance, and architectural form, drawing from professional knowledge but built without instructions—leading to moments of improvisation and instability. In contrast, my LEGO sculpture embraces both structure and chaos intentionally: one half follows design rules, while the other evolves through collaborative, participant-driven input. While Youakim struggled with uncertainty as a challenge, I use it as a core concept—inviting unpredictability as a design element rather than a problem to fix.
